The Friends of South Tipperary General Hospital Ltd

Dear john savage,
I am writing to you to tell you about the skydive. We did the skydive on behalf of the Solace centre and Friends of South tipperary General hospital. we feel priviledged to have achieve something we always wanted to do and at the same time raise money for two worthwhile charities that are close to our hearts. In all there were five of us that participated in the jump. there was aisling walsh orla byrne, richael hayes, ciara gough and myself the main organiser cliodhna kinney all between the ages of 18 and 19. recently my grandfather was in a coma in st josephs and my grandmother was in the cardiac unit at the same time. the staff were so amazing to our family that i felt the desire to organise a fundraiser. in total we raised  €3103.00 which will be Split between the two charties, a total of €1551.50 each. the whole experience was amazing and thought me so much about organising an event like this. one of the fundraising events that we held was a band night and we are truly grateful to the bar the outback who gave us the venue for free and all the bands(Odhran McCarthy, Sinead O’Meara, Kevin Rice, Kate Twohig, Radio Caroline, Responsible Looking Freaks, Broken Glass on Broadway and dj Nigel Byrne)who played for free in order to help us fundraise. we are also grateful to everyone who showed up that night to make it a successful night. please find enclosed pictures of the sky dive. kind regards cliodhna kinney

Donation money, allowed the Friends of STGH to purchase
11 Ana tome Chairs (see picture above)
11 Over chair Tables
6 Neck Support Cushions
6 Gel Seat Cushions
The design of this chair meets the needs of the patients in STGH as it has retractable head and arm rests. Staff in South Tipperary find that this is a necessary aid to patient care. The chair is not only used to provide the correct position for patients following illnesses such as Stokes etc but this chair can also be used to transfer patients from the wards to the physiotherapy department to enable their rehabilitation. The patient is secure in the chair on transfer allowing the patient to relax in a safe environment. The chair is easy to move around the hospital as it has good handling qualities and is of lightweight construction.

On behalf of the patients and staff who have benefited from these chairs say “ Thank You

...as a self funding charity, we rely on donations and money that comes in thanks to your kindness
